The two major party candidates for governor of Florida have a lot in common but are running on very different platforms. Both the incumbent, Ron DeSantis, and the challenger, Charlie Crist, have been Republican governors of Florida. Both have served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Crist, who was a much more centrist governor than DeSantis, is now a Democrat and is vying to regain the governorship and derail DeSantis’ presidential ambitions.
