With your help, we’re off to a great start

Trinity Laurino
Executive Director
Wow! And thank you! Yesterday kicked off our annual NewsMatch campaign and we had our best first day ever, raising close to $2,000 from one email. If this keeps up, we should meet our first match milestone of $13,000 within two weeks.
If youโre new here, this is the time of year we raise the majority of the funds to support our freely accessible local news for the year to come. And right now, every dollar we raise is matched by the national NewsMatch program and local founders like the Bell-Barnett Family Fund at GiveWell Community Foundation who believe in the work of LkldNow.
Right now, one-time donations are doubled; if you start a new monthly recurring donation, the full yearโs value is matched โ so, for example, if you donate $10 a month, we get an additional $120.
This year has been one of major transitions at LkldNow as our founder, Barry Friedman, has worked to recruit the next generation of journalists to carry the torch of LkldNowโs mission and vision. Weโve expanded from tiny to โsmall but mightyโ and stretched ourselves in numerous ways through this whole year and itโs always humbling and gratifying to know you value this work. Because itโs you, our readers, who make LkldNow possible.
If youโd like to help us keep the news local, you can support us here.
Also, weโre super excited to announce our end of year event will be A Candid Conversation with Steve-O, the comedian, stuntman and bestselling author best known as the star of the MTV series โJackassโ and its spinoff films. LkldNowโs editor, Cindy Glover, will host a live conversation with her famous sibling, delving into his career, their childhood and the lessons life has taught them. Get tickets here.
