Proposal: Revive Munn Park Entertainment Pavilion
Years ago, audiences gathered around a bandstand in Munn Park for plays and concerts. A group that has remained anonymous so far would like to place an updated entertainment pavilion in the park, but there’s a likely hitch involving the Confederate monument in the center of the park.
Pokémon Go Finds Enthusiastic Lakeland Users
Less than a week after it was released, Pokémon Go seems to be everywhere — including Lakeland. Pedestrians looking as much at their smartphones as the sidewalk roamed downtown on Saturday looking for “Pokéstops.” There’s already a Lakeland Pokémon group on Facebook. And Thursday’s Munn Park food truck rally will feature a tent where people can get Pokémon tips.
More Main Street Art: Colorful Swan, Subdued T-Rex
The painted giraffe and its animal friends in Munn Park are getting some neighbors across the street: a colorful mural dominated by a swan and a muted tyrannosaurus rex.

Based on the success of the “giraffe tree” he painted in Munn Park, artist David Collins has started another public art project and is planning to paint more trees in the park.
Request to Move Confederate Memorial Gets No Action
