
City commissioners are being asked Monday morning to approve a contract to sell 10 acres behind the LPD headquarters to a Tampa developer planning a 306-unit multi-family complex.
The land would be sold for $3.7 million and the city is offering $2.5 million worth of incentives to Framework Group, whose project is estimated to cost $58 million.
The conceptual plan shown here has generated quite a bit of discussion on Facebook, with many people saying the proposal needs more public discussion or expressing hopes that the look is more urban than suburban.
The topic is scheduled at the top of the City Commission’s 10 a.m. agenda Monday at City Hall.
