Your support preserves local news

Trinity Laurino
Executive Director
With Thanksgiving next week, we want to say how thankful we are to you for being a LkldNow reader. We are especially thankful to the 100 readers who have donated to support this work this month.
The challenge is: We need to raise at least $50,000 by the end of year to keep this tap of local news flowing freely in the new year. The good news is we have dollar-for-dollar matching funds from NewsMatch and our local match partners that will turn that $50,000 into $100,000.
The truth is: This year’s fund-raising drive is off to a slower start than usual, likely because Milton and the election has left everyone with a bit of news fatigue. Honestly, we get it. We’re also looking forward to a lighter news week with the holiday and a little rest and recuperation for the reporting staff. There probably won’t be a newsletter next week so this is my last ask for November.
The thing is: The future of news that shapes our understanding of Lakeland – LkldNow’s future – is in your hands. Any amount you give is appreciated and goes to funding the reporting you read here. If you make your gift monthly, NewMatch will match the full year’s amount.
