By this time next year, Lakeland fans of Nordstrom Rack should be able to drive to Lakeside Village instead of Brandon or Tampa to shop at the off-price retailer.
A Nordstrom Rack store is planned for the vacant 30,000-square-foot building previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, a Lakeside Village spokeswoman confirmed. It is projected to open in fall 2025, according to a press release from parent company, Nordstrom Inc., a luxury fashion retailer based in Seattle.
“We’re really excited about this addition, and we hope it will bring a fresh and trendy shopping experience to the area,” said Christina Marchand, Lakeside Village marketing manager.
Nordstrom Rack specializes in apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes.
Customers will be able to pick up and return online orders from both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack at the Lakeland location, according to the press release.
Florida’s 19 Nordstrom Rack stores and six Nordstrom stores generate 2,300 jobs, the press release said.
Bed Bath & Beyond was one of the original anchors when Lakeside Village opened in 2005 at Harden Boulevard and the Polk Parkway. The Lakeland store was among 41 Florida locations that closed after the company announced in April 2023 that it would file bankruptcy.
The storefront most recently housed a seasonal Spirit Halloween store.
