The Lakeland Squeeze weekend shuttle that offers free golf-cart rides in the downtown area has added a new stop near Florida Southern College campus housing, effective tonight.

The Squeeze, an innovation of the Citrus Connection transit system, uses eight-passenger golf carts to ferry passengers around downtown with stops as far west as the RP Funding Center and as far south and east as the new stop at the Mocs Shuttle stop in front of the Florida Southern ROTC building.

The downtown shuttle runs Fridays from 4-11 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Squeeze already had a stop by the FSC campus at Frank Lloyd Wright Way and College Avenue, but that stop is far from campus housing and wasn’t getting much use, according to a Citrus Connection spokesman.
