The Ledger

Beth Geohagen, the ever-smiling pedaler behind BeFly Bike Tours, is working with Butterfly Bistro to deliver breakfasts and lunches in the downtown and Dixieland areas, The Ledger reports.

The article made me wonder if another midtown bicycle delivery service is still active. R&R Bike Courier set up shop in 2012 and offered free deliveries (tips accepted).  Their Facebook page hasn’t been updated since June, but I called and found out they indeed are still operating. I’ll be talking with them for a future article.

Also in The Ledger: You may have noticed workers and trucks at the one-story commercial building at the corner of Harden Boulevard and Edgewood Drive. They are preparing for construction of a $25 million, 60-square-foot building that will be attached by a walkway to the building Lakeland Regional already owns there.

The new facility will include orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient rehab, ear-nose-and-throat care, pulmonology or lung care, obstetrics-gynecology and primary care. The campus, to be called Lakeland Health Grasslands, is scheduled to open in April 2016, The Ledger reports.
