John Oliver "Buddy", Beard, 89

John Oliver “Buddy” Beard, age 89, of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2024, at LRMC due to a short illness. He was a great father and friend to everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his father, John D. Beard; mother, Martha Hazel Beavers Campbell; brothers, Allen and Alton, Robert Neal Beard, Clayton Grover Beard; sister, Sophia Olivia Beard Davison; daughter, Sheila Beard Joiner.

He is survived by his son, Paul Alan Beard (Tempie); sister, Jackie Beard Argo.

John retired from Mulberry Phosphates, where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. John was a hard worker and generous with his time to all. He loved to garden, golf, and to spend time with his family and his dogs (Tobi, Gabi).
