With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of a beloved mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mrs. Shirley Rice. She peacefully departed from this world on May 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. While we mourn her loss, we celebrate her remarkable life and the countless lives she touched along the way. She was born on November 27, 1933, in Miami, Florida, to Andrew and Beulah (Johnston) McCrea. Shirley was a shining beacon of love, strength, and wisdom. Peggy Ann Stanton, 83, passed away at her home in Lakeland on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Peggy was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on February 12, 1940 to parents William and Lucille (Day) Frey. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Stanton and son Bubby Stanton. She is survived by daughters Jackie Brooner, Mary (Scott) Praiswater, Sharon (Bo) Bragg, Judy Kay (Harry) Hardenbrook and Donna Sue Guedes; sons David Stanton, John (Liz) Huebner; sisters Anna Latta and Sandra Smith; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

Nancy Jane Page, age 79, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her home in north Lakeland surrounded by her daughters. Nancy was born to parents Richard and Victoria Miller on January 20, 1944, in Lakeland. After graduating from Lakeland High School, Nancy married Charles Page and had three daughters. Nancy embraced a full-time job as a loving wife, sacrificial mother, homemaker, school volunteer, bookkeeper for Charles’ business, and babysitter for her grandchildren. She loved crossword puzzles and a good mystery. She kept her family close by opening her home for holidays and many other family gatherings. Always putting others first, Nancy will be remembered for her generosity and kind heart.

Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Sherman, age 58, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born on September 16, 1964, in Clinton, Massachusetts to Richard and Jeanet (Dittmer) Schaumburg. Becky was an Inventory Analyst for Publix at the LV Warehouse with 22 years of service.
Michael Daniel Lyle, 73
Mike Lyle, 73, of Haines City, Florida, passed away on May 10, 2023. He was born on July 28, 1949, to Mary Frances Lyle (Burgess) and Robert Telford Lyle. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert (Bobby) Lyle. Mike served his country as a Vietnam veteran from 1968-1970. He was a proud member of the US Marine Corp.
Frankie “Frank” Lee Jackson, 80
“Frank,” as he is affectionately known, was born to Ennis and Lillie Bell Jackson on February 4, 1943, and departed this earth on May 13, 2023. Frank was a blessed man of many talents. As an avid swimmer, he became a lifeguard at the Simpson Park Recreation Center, as a highly skilled mechanic, he was capable of repairing a number of different cars, lawn mowers, and most mechanical equipment.

Lisa Deanne Melton went home after serving her Jesus for 60 years on this earth. The family she influenced so profoundly, with her love, her spirit of good, her forgiveness of anyone unkind to her, and her genuine ability to evoke a smile or a hug from anyone who crossed her path, will forever miss their beautiful innocent girl.
Huey Lee Evans, 85
Huey Lee Evans was born from the union of Beatrice Evans and Roy Lee Evans in Enterprise, AL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Lee Evans and Carter Lee Evans. Huey was employed by IMC Phosphate Mines for 38 years. He was a faithful member of Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church serving as a Trustee and an Usher.
