Huey Lee Evans, 85

Huey Lee Evans was born from the union of Beatrice Evans and Roy Lee Evans in Enterprise, AL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Lee Evans and Carter Lee Evans. Huey was employed by IMC Phosphate Mines for 38 years. He was a faithful member of Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church serving as a Trustee and an Usher.

Huey is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jean Evelyn Evans; two daughters, Beatrice Evans (Arcadia, FL) and Diane Sanders (Caregiver -Lakeland, FL); one son, Gerry Sanders (Lakeland, FL); one sister, Margaret Terry (Enterprise, AL); two grandchildren, SaTerika James and Diamond J. Richardson; two great grandchildren, Angel J. Reeves and Heaven K. Reeves (all of Arcadia, FL); 3 brothers-in law, Jimmy Sanders (Carson, CA), Johnny Sanders (Montgomery, AL), and Alfonso Sanders (Pensacola, FL); one sister-in-law, Mary Fulcher (Queens, NY); one Goddaughter, Erika S. Pearson (Lakeland, FL); an adopted son nephew, Carter L. Evans (Enterprise, AL); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held May 20th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church 1125 N. New York Avenue Lakeland, FL 33805. A service will follow at 11 a.m.
