Traffic Changes Aim to Increase Lakeland Highlands School Safety
City crews plan to paint a diagonal crosswalk at Cleveland Heights Boulevard/Scott Lake Road and Lake Miriam Drive on Tuesday as part of a series of changes aimed at improving safety for students walking to Lakeland Highlands Middle School, city officials announced this morning.
Redemption Church Plans Move to St. David’s Site
Members of Redemption Church, which has held services at RP Funding Center since the church was founded in 2016, have voted to purchase the 1.5-acre property at 145 E. Edgewood Drive that has been home to St. David’s Episcopal Church for 65 years.
Indoor Ferns Inspired New Mural Near Downtown
Ferns growing inside a building that’s being renovated inspired a colorful new mural that was finished this week. Artist Kimberly Campbell returned briefly from her new home in the Pacific Northwest to create the mural at 314 N. Iowa Ave., just north of the Lakeland Police Department headquarters.
