Organizations that won awards in the 2019 Lakeland Martin Luther King Jr. Parade were recognized today at a meeting of the Lakeland City Commission. Awards were announced by Natalie Gallon, assistant parks superintendent, who said next year’s parade will be the last she helps coordinate because she will be retiring.

City: We’ll Remove/Relocate Some Early Parade Chairs
Every year, the city of Lakeland asks Christmas parade spectators to wait until at least the night before the parade to put chairs along the route, and every year their requests are ignored. This year the city says it’s going to remove or relocate some of the chairs.
