A forum today focused on the constitutional amendments that Florida voters will encounter on the Nov. 6 election ballot. In addition, speakers discussed three Polk County charter amendments on the ballot and extension of the 1/2-cent sales tax for public school construction.

The forum sponsored by the Leadership Lakeland Alumni Association at Grasslands Golf and Country Club featured presentations by Polk County Commissioner George Lindsey and League of Women Voters members Sue Schultz and Nancy Simmons. The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a review of the constitutional amendments from a business perspective at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25 at Schalamar Creek Golf and Country Club. Tickets: $15-$30.

In addition, Polk Vision has scheduled a forum on all of the ballot initiatives to be held 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 1891 Jim Keene Blvd., Winter Haven.
