OAKBRIDGE/GRASSLANDS: Lawyers who organized a meeting to explain a lawsuit against Drummond Co. were met with skepticism from residents who questioned their data citing high radiation levels and expressed concern for property values in two upscale communities off Harden Boulevard.

CITY CHARTER: Now that a group appointed by the City Commission has recommended changes to the city’s “constitution,” when should voters have their say? Several commissioners say it will be too confusing to put charter changes on the November ballot, when voters are already being asked whether Lakeland should change to a strong mayor form of government.
