- ELECTION: County Commission candidate Bob Doyel is criticizing his opponent, incumbent Bill Braswell, for sending political messages using thousands of email addresses the county obtained when residents applied for CARES Act grants. Braswell responded that the program that helped people affected financially by the coronavirus is “worth calling attention to.”
- HOUSING: The City Commission is committing $460,000 toward an 88-unit affordable housing complex geared towards families on Griffin Road next to the Publix-anchored Town & Country Plaza.
- LOTTERY: Joe Hayes, 61, of Lakeland, bought a winning scratch-off Lottery ticket at the Circle K at 8324 U.S. 98 N. and claimed a lump-sum payment of $890,000.
