Current CEO Thompson and successor Drummond point to cost controls and physical expansion, potentially into east Polk or Hillsborough or at the hospital’s 100-acre parcel along U.S. 98 between Highland City and Bartow.

BUSES: New technology being introduced by the Citrus Connection will include a mobile payment app, a Smart Card upgrade that could save money for some passengers and a test of free on-bus wifi.

  1. If Lakeland Regional would stop spending money foolishly it would be an improvement all the way around. Yes, they needed the Women’s and Children’s wing but they did not need that huge empty, open space with the awful multi-thousands of dollars sculpture in it. Or that huge largely unused auditorium. Total waste of money.
