The north Lakeland Wawa store at 4320 U.S. 98 N. is temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, the company said.

The store will be deep cleaned and disinfected before reopening, the company said.

“The store will reopen as soon as possible with associates from other stores, if needed,” read a sign posted at the entrance on Wednesday. “We are working with the Department of Health on notifications to any associate who may have had close contact with the associate.”

The associate last worked there on April 20, the sign said.

On Thursday, the sign was replaced with one containing a shorter message saying the store was “closed due to limited staffing.”

In Pinellas Park, the Wawa store at 3101 Gandy Boulevard also closed after an employee who last worked there on April 25 tested positive.
