Mabel Jane Temple, 99

Mabel Jane Temple passed peacefully to her eternal home on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the age of 99.

Mabel was born in Jackson, Tennessee, on July 8, 1922, to her parents, Vasco, and Rachel Camp. After graduating from Union University in Jackson, TN, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Mabel met and married her beloved husband, Mark H. Temple IV. She was an elementary school teacher in Dade City, Florida, from 1958 to 1968. She and her family moved to Lakeland in 1968, where she taught at Padgett Elementary School until 1976.

Mabel’s passion was bible study and teaching Sunday school. She taught Sunday school at Edgewood Baptist Church for several years and at First Baptist Church until she was in her early 80s. Mabel is survived by her sons, Mark H. Temple V, and Jere Michael Temple, and her daughter, Patti Roberts. She has five grandsons, four great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
