Richard Charles Barfield Sr. was born to Buddy and Joan Barfield on December 5, 1956, in Lakeland, FL. He was a fourth-generation resident of Lakeland. He owned Ricks Auto Repair for 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his son Joshua Blasingame, his father Charles “Buddy” Barfield, and his mother Joan Barfield.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Barb Barfield. His children Richard Barfield (Nicole), Kimberly Weaver (Alexander) and Brooke Lanham (Timothy) and Grandchildren Jorden, Zachary, Cadence, Madilynn, Emmalynn, Layla, Kelsi and Colson and many other loving family members.

To know Richard was to love him. If you ever had the privilege of sitting and talking with him you know how much he loved his family, fast cars, and fast motorcycles. He eventually grew to love his wild dog Elmer too. He loved spending time with his family and friends in the barn. Many great memories were made and shared in his barn and it was where you could find him most days.

He lived life with a steadfast determination for the things he wanted to achieve, and that strong spirit continues in his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at TBA Church in Lakeland, FL.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
