Martha Sauthoff of Sebring, Florida went to be with her beloved Jesus on August 17, 2026. She passed away in her own home at the age of 101.
“Martha can be remembered with the same great joy and peace that she desired all of her family and friends to have in Jesus.”
Having lived for more than a century, it is understandable that she was preceded in death by many loved ones including her parents Harry and Charlotte Andrews, her brother Paul Andrews, her sister Mary Jegerlehner, her husband Floyd Sauthoff, and her son Ralph Sauthoff.
Martha exhibited the calm grace and wisdom of someone who lived through the Great Depression, World War II, both the Vietnam and Korean Wars, the discovery of penicillin, the Civil Rights Movement, the first moon landing, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and 9/11. The things that bothered her weren’t world events, but rather the physical and spiritual well-being of her church, her family, and her friends. She had the great privilege and honor of never having created a single social media account.
She will be greatly missed, but thankfully, those who knew her in Christ need not grieve as those without hope. Martha can be remembered with the same great joy and peace that she desired all of her family and friends to have in Jesus.
She enjoyed golf, fishing, waterskiing, travel, and animals. She was very involved in her church through things such as choir, handbells, and Awana—all of which God graciously allowed her to participate in until very late in her life. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, frequently traveling by car to Lakeland and taking annual trips to visit family late into her 90s. Many will miss her smile and her subtle humor.
She is survived by her sister Jane Vanderheyden, daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Michael Fiddelke, daughter-in-law Sheri Sauthoff, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 5 at Victory Church of Lakeland Light of Lights Chapel, 1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland, Florida at 10am with a service following at 11am. Per her request, memorial contributions may be made to Union Church, 106 N Butler Ave, Avon Park, Florida.
