Elaine Garrison Newman, 85

Elaine Garrison Newman, of Winter Springs, Florida, went to be with her Lord on June 25, 2026, at the age of 85.

Elaine was born on August 10, 1940 in Jasper, Alabama, to Lloyd C. and Edith A. Garrison. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and earned her degree from the University of Alabama, remaining a loyal Crimson Tide fan throughout her life.

Above all, Elaine was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Newman; her parents, Lloyd C. and Edith A. Garrison; her brother, Joseph Sterling Garrison; and her sisters, Elizabeth Garrison Leatherwood, Martha Garrison Jackson, Katharine Garrison Self, and twin brother, Lloyd C. Garrison Jr.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Emerson) Noble of Oviedo, Florida; Scott (Jennifer) Newman of Brandon, Florida; Drew Newman of Trophy Club, Texas; and Meg (Nick) Castellano of Carmel, New York; her sister, Sarah Garrison Sullivan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and precious friends.

Elaine will be laid to rest beside her husband at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, Florida.

Her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, and they are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support of family and friends during this time.
