Lakeland’s “Red, White & Kaboom” celebration returns Friday, July 3. The free community festival, held yearly since 2004, culminates with fireworks over Lake Mirror.

This year, spectators can look forward to a musical appearance by local band, Bully for You. The alt-rock cover band regularly performs in Lakeland, but this is their Red, White and Kaboom debut.

“We’re super excited to have been asked this year, and the City has been wonderful to work with in the buildup to the event,” said Craig Morby, lead singer of the band. “The Fourth is a big deal, generally, but especially this year celebrating 250 years of our great country — we’re a nation whose story is still evolving and still being written. These events bring our community together, all of us, and music has always been a great uniter. We’ll cherish that thought on Friday night.”

“We are very excited to sponsor Red, White & Kaboom again this year, and I know the community is looking forward to an awesome event.  It is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of our great country with live music and fireworks,” said Tom Mims, president of  T. Mims Corporation, title sponsor since 2009.
