Fans of locally grown produce in Lakeland will get to try another weekly farmers market starting next Wednesday. Dixie Twilight Market will operate from 4 p.m. until sundown Wednesdays in the parking lot behind Dixieland Village.

An announcement on Facebook says the market will offer produce, plants, flowers, herbs, loose organic tea, prepared foods, meat, seafood, honey, hot sauce, cheese and artwork.

The market, situated next to Fat Maggie’s, features many of the vendors from the popular Saturday morning Lakeland Downtown Curb Market. It is being organized by Jim Luna, manager of the downtown market, and Rebecca Fortier of Say Cheese, a downtown market vendor.

Vendors signed up so far include Erendira Pr0duce, Two Popes Peppersauce, Nira’s Orchids, Say Cheese and Aqua Organics produce.  A more complete list is expected by Friday.

Dixieland has gotten a lot of media attention lately as a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity. A post on the YLakeland blog this week mentioned several new businesses coming to Dixieland Village, including: The Balance Culture, which offers Pilates classes and nutrition counseling; A Kind Place boutique; Concord Coffee, and an office of the Primerica financial services company.
