The Polk Theatre is being transformed into a comedy club on Friday evening in an event that raises funds for Polk schools.
ItsJustCharity.org is holding it third annual It’s Just Comedy show from 7 to 10 p.m. Five stand-up comedians will perform, and material is not expected to range beyond PG-13 territory.
General admission tickets are $15. A $40 VIP ticket includes all-you-can-drink beer, wine and signature cocktails.

ItsJustCharity.org founder Shane Mahoney said his organization works with the Polk Education Foundation to provide educational materials requested by teachers through its FindItFundIt program.
“We focus on projects that can be fully funded, affect as many kids as possible at once, and items that can be used over time, year after year,” Mahoney said in an email. “After that, we will partially fund other projects that we feel have a high probability of being fulfilled by parents and other donors.”
Items purchased in the past, he said, include musical instruments, robotics laboratories for third graders, PE equipment, books, tablets and butterfly terrariums.
