SR 33 Intersections Closed After Deputy-Involved Shooting
Avoid State Road 33 near University Boulevard (Florida Poly University area) and Combee Road. Those intersections are closed following a deputy-involved shooting. No deputies are injured, a suspect is in custody, and no other suspects are being sought, according to the Polk Sheriff’s Office. More info is coming.

Therapist Conti Sentenced to Eight Years

Man Charged in Hit-and-Run that Injured a Child
A 33-year-old Lakeland man was arrested late Friday in a hit-and-run earlier in the day that sent 11-year-old Trinity Hamilton to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa with a fractured jaw and a dislocated pelvis.
