10:30 P.M. UPDATE: A 25-acre brush fire under the George Jenkins Boulevard overpass west of Kathleen Road has been contained, the Lakeland Fire Department says. All the department’s engines responded to the smokey fire and were assisted by the Florida Fire Service and Polk County Fire Rescue. Train traffic had been discontinued but was allowed to resume around 8:20 p.m., and the overpass r-opened to traffic around 10:30.
