A resident of Florida Presbyterian Homes called the Lakeland Police Department this afternoon to report seeing an alligator with a body in its mouth in Lake Hunter. Police retrieved a body, but hadn’t identified it as of this evening. A trapper killed an alligator in the lake around 9 p.m. and officials are expected to test it to see if it consumed human remains. Here’s the story as it unfolded this afternoon.
