People have been asking about the stand-alone building with a curved roof under construction next to Mission BBQ on South Florida Avenue. It’s going to be the Lakeland location of the Andy’s Frozen Custard chain.
The Missouri-based frozen treats company (menu) is a franchise operation with 93 locations in 13 states. Plans for the 2,265-square-foot building call for drive-through and walk-up service.
The store is tentatively set to open in mid to late August, according to Avery Klein, marketing director for Andy’s.
It’s being built by Park & Eleazer Construction of Clearwater. The site at 4046 S. Florida Ave. was formerly home to A to Z Rental Center. (Bottom image: Finkle + Williams Architecture)
