As Polk School Board members met in Highland City to select a new superintendent of schools on Tuesday, more than 200 people gathered outside to demand the school district lift the requirement that masks be worn in schools. Board members take up the mask issue at their May 11 work session, The Ledger reports.

  1. It’s a shame the parents won’t help Bus Drivers & Attendants fight like like for pay raises. We are many drivers down throughout Polk County and the good drivers that are left that love their kids like their own are contemplating leaving after this school year because we’re sick at being paid poverty levels and no raises in many years. When drivers that have been there 10-14 yrs are still making the same amount as new drivers there is a serious problem! As for the mask, most of us feel it should be a choice not something that is forced.
