Did you know that by rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar that you can change the lives of those in our community?

There are many low-income seniors and disabled customers that struggle to pay their electric bill. Lakeland Electric has partnered with Catholic Charities of Central Florida to offer a program that assists those who are less fortunate.

The program is called Project Care, and there are three ways Lakeland Electric customers can donate:

  • A one-time donation
  • By selecting a fixed monthly donation amount
  • By participating in our Round-up program.

Through the Round-Up program, Lakeland Electric will automatically round-up participating customer’s utility bills to the next highest dollar amount. For example, a participating customer’s monthly bill of $118.75 would be automatically rounded up to $119.00, with the additional 25 cents going to Round-Up for Project Care.

A small donation can make a big difference in helping someone who is in need.

If you are interested in participating in the program please fill out the online form at lakelandelectric.com/projectcare or call customer service at (863) 834-9535.

Lakeland Electric is asking people to reach out and contribute to Project Care. This program is designed so that customers who can afford to – and want to help others – can make voluntary contributions to the fund. It’s a small gift that could really make a difference in the lives of families experiencing financial difficulty.

The donations collected through Project Care are managed by Catholic Charities, which is responsible for administering all funds donated through the program.

TOGETHER, YOUR SMALL CHANGE WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.
