Xebec, an industrial real estate company that built a spec warehouse in a logistic hub on Lakeland’s east side two years ago, has broken ground on another spec warehouse in Lakeland, this time in a logistics hub on the west side of town.

The 400,040-square-foot Logistixs Hub at County Line is being built by Marcobay Construction at 3075 Whitten Road with an expected completion date of April 2021, Tampa Bay Business Journal reported today in a subscribers-only artice.

Xebec, with offices in Dallas and Los Angeles, bought the 40-acre site last December for $4.65 million, according to Polk property appraiser records.

Cushman & Wakefield Inc. is marketing the property. Xebec is looking for a single tenant and intends to maintain ownership of the building, Cushman & Wakefield’s Trey Carswell told TBBJ.

Xebec in 2018 built a 533,000-square-foot warehouse along State Road 33 north of I-4 and leased it to Connโ€™s HomePlus, a retailer of bargain-focused home furnishings as part of its move into Florida
