Lakeland residents can expect temporary lane closures on Lake Morton Drive beginning Monday, July 20, as the city begins work on a water quality improvement project at Lake Morton.
Construction is scheduled to continue through July 31, with scheduled lane closures taking place from July 20 to 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During road closures, The City of Lakeland will install three phosphorus elimination systems with denitrification. These systems are designed to remove nitrogen and phosphorus from the surface of the lake.
Drivers traveling through the area this week are encouraged to use caution and follow posted traffic control signage. Questions about the project can be directed to the City of Lakeland Lakes & Stormwater Division at 863-834-3300.
