Romeo Goingo, God’s faithful servant, joined our Lord in eternal rest on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 65 in Lakeland Florida. Romeo is Survived by his Wife, Salome Goingo; his Sons, Stephen, Irwin, and Christopher Goingo. Romeo is a loving grandfather to Kara and Kayleen Goingo, and father in-law to Melanie and Ailyn Goingo.
Romeo was born in the Sorsogon Philippines on June 15, 1955. He worked overseas for 7 years as a food manager in Saudi Arabia before immigrating to America in 1994. He lived in Connecticut for over 20 years working different jobs from contract worker to being a realtor. Romeo retired early due to Kidney Disease and moved to Florida with his family where he proceeded to receive dialysis treatment.
Romeo was a devoted father and grandfather. He was an avid church goer and enjoyed cooking and serving his local churches of St. Anthony, St. Joseph, and Resurrection Catholic Churches. He was a part of the Couples for Christ Ministry where he was a beloved member to all. Romeo was also a member of Knights of Rizal, Knights of Columbus, and was a past president of the Philipine-American Association of Connecticut. He was a very spiritual and faith driven man who will be missed by his family and friends.
There will be a viewing at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, at Serenity Gardens on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. There will also be a memorial mass held for him on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Resurrection Catholic Church. Both services will be live streamed for those who cannot make it in person.
