The family-friendly Hurricane Expo runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, May 30, at the RP Funding Center.

Attendees can visit interactive exhibits and connect with local organizations and vendors offering storm preparation advice, resources, and emergency planning information. Organizers also plan giveaways and raffles, including hurricane preparedness kits (while supplies last), a generator, and a portable power station.

The free expo is hosted by Home Instead, Age Friendly Lakeland, the City of Lakeland, the RP Funding Center, and United Way of Central Florida.

“This expo is designed to help our community feel informed, prepared, and confident before hurricane season begins,” said Adam Lebovitz, United Way’s community resilience manager.

The expo will feature presentations from hurricane and weather experts, including Jonathan Zawislak, Denis Phillips, Tracy Fanara, and Kyle Hanson. LkldNow’s Trinity Laurino will moderate a community preparedness panel.
