If you are interested in Lakeland’s news media – and I suspect you are if you read this newsletter – you can learn a lot via a revealing new video and podcast. It’s the latest episode of the Listen Lakeland Show produced by Lakeland Vision, a nonprofit organization focused on community improvement.

The moderator and three panelists examine how local media organizations are responding to swift changes in the ways readers access news and even what audiences expect from news providers.

The panelists are: Trinity Laurino, executive director of LkldNow; Gary White, a Ledger reporter since 2002; and RJ Walters, editor of The Lakelander. The discussion was skillfully moderated by Alex Rich, a Lakeland Vision board member and the executive director of The AGB Museum of Art.

Check it out: video | audio. You’ll learn a lot about how and why local news has evolved in recent years.
