Misty Maloney born September 21,1963 has passed away on August 21, 2021.

Misty worked as an inventory control specialist for Linden Industrial Machinery. She died unexpectedly due to complications from COVID-19.

Misty survived by her mother Helen Marle Waters, her sisters Wendy Smith and Crystal Murphy, her loving husband Leonard, their daughter Jailen and great niece Caidance Murphy.

Misty was born in Winter Haven, Florida on September 21, 1963, to Thomas Woodrow Waters and Helen Marle Waters. She grew up in Winter Haven till middle school and then moved to Bartow when her parents brought a farm. She graduated from Bartow high school in 1981, and then her parents moved to North Lakeland to where they currently reside. She was married once prior to her current husband and had no children then. She met her current husband Lenny at work at Tropic Star Seafood. In a few short months a great love had sparked, and they were married October 10, 1998, and were on track for their 23rd anniversary. On April 13,2004 with a little help from a fertility specialist Misty became a mother to their beautiful daughter Jailen.

Misty was type of mother that would do anything for her children and our great niece was with no exception. Misty took in her niece when she needed her most and treated her as her own. Misty loved doing things for the girls like involving them in competitive cheer and going to water parks, her favorite was Aquatica. Misty was quirky, eclectic, fun loving and spirited. She loved to laugh and cut up and have a good time. She was always fun to be around. She was a very meticulous person and things had to be done a certain way, like she always had to look beautiful with her hair and makeup done.

Misty funeral will be a graveside at Oak Hill Burial Park on Monday August 30, 2021 at 9 a.m.. There will also be Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday September 4, 2021, at 9 a.m.. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
