On Saturday, May 2, Florida Southern College (FSC) held a ceremony at RP Funding Center for the largest graduating class in the school’s history — 583 graduates, including 66 graduate degrees.
Mayor Sara Roberts McCarley, who graduated from the college in 1993 with a bachelor’s in communications, gave the commencement address. She reflected on the importance of taking risks and the enduring impact of her time at FSC. The college also awarded McCarley an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree.
The ceremony included remarks from senior speaker Luke Reeves, a political science major and newly commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, who asked his mother to stand and be recognized by the packed arena. Marketing major Alisa Fine received the President’s Scholar Medal in recognition of her achievements as a student scholar. Sriya Jupalli, a biology major and president of Scientistas, was named the 2026 Honor Walk recipient.
