Wayne McNabb, 80, passed away in Lakeland on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Wayne was born to parents Ruel B. and Vernice (Browning) McNabb in Nashville, Georgia on October 28, 1943.

He moved to Lakeland shortly after graduating from Hillsborough High School in 1961 and was employed with the City of Lakeland as an Electrical Engineer for 37 years until his retirement in 2001.

On May 28, 1964, Wayne married Sandra Freeman and the loving couple celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.
Wayne was an avid hunter and farmer, a true outdoorsman that enjoyed tending to nature and had to have a new gardening project each year. He loved old cars, and was the proud owner of a ’37 Ford and ’69 Corvette.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandra McNabb; daughters Donna Johnson (Dennis) and Carol Ann McNabb; brother Jackie McNabb (Brenda); sister Patricia Brooks (Thomas); grandsons Logan and Lucas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel. A procession to Socrum Cemetery for interment will conclude services.
