Ted Nelson, 79, passed away on November 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria; his daughters, Jillian Wilder and Susan Henderson; and his son, Bobby Nelson, along with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ted was born in Chipley, FL, and lived in Dade City, FL, before moving and graduating from Kissimmee High School. He started his career at Hughes Supply Co. in Orlando, where he worked for 45 years providing utility power sales to companies worldwide before retiring.
Throughout his life and well into retirement, Ted enjoyed traveling with his family across the United States and Europe. His adventures took him to the Grand Canyon, Munich’s Oktoberfest, cruising along the Danube, and wine tasting in Tuscany. Ted also had a passion for fast cars, especially Corvettes.
Ted’s quiet presence will be deeply missed.
Memorial services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday,
December 6, at 2 p.m. at 2715 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33805.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted’s name to Christ Lutheran Church’s Endowment Fund
