
Tamar Leslie Echevarria, age 51, passed away on December 14.
Tamar is survived by her husband of 25 years, Nelson Echevarria, her beloved son Enrique Echevarria and her loving parents Rafael Santaella and Tamara (Couvertier) Santaella. She was also survived by her 4 sisters Emile Ortiz, Jossie Torres, Leslie Santaella (her Twin), Keila Sanjurjo, her soul sister Debbie Rivera and many nieces and nephews.
Tamar was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and grew-up in New Haven, Connecticut for most of her adult life. Upon her husband’s retirement they moved to Lakeland, Florida where she passed away from a long battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her
loved ones during her transition to the heavens.
Her life on earth was full of many virtues and accomplishments. She believed in the power of knowledge and the constant pursuit of learning. As an educator for more than 20 years she had an incredible ability to communicate and connect with children. Her love for teaching and learning has left a legacy in the countless lives she touched.
Those who knew Tamar will remember her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and love for Godly music. Her kindness, compassion, humor and honesty will live in our hearts until we meet again. Please join our family in her celebration of life which will be held at Believers Fellowship Church, 5240 N Socrum Loop Rd, Lakeland, FL on Friday December 20th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
