
Sharon Jean Stotts of Lakeland, FL passed away at the age of 75 on December 30, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL after a prolonged and courageous battle with ALS. Her husband and three of her children were by her side.
Sharon was born in Pittsburg, KS and raised within a large family in a very small Weir, KS before marrying her high school sweetheart and starting a family. As a retailer’s wife, she moved often in the early years across Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Sharon and her family settled in Lakeland, FL in 1985.
She was a homemaker, devoted wife for 58 years, loving mother, grandmother (Grammie!), sister, aunt, and friend to everyone she met. Above all, she enjoyed family and children. She opened her heart and home throughout her life and made positive impacts on so many people with her wit, southern charm, and country sayings. Sharon was also an avid traveler who visited most of the United States via motorhome, cruised Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, Pacific Islands, Central and South America, through the Panama Canal, across the Atlantic Ocean, Northern Europe and more, as well as, toured across most of Western Europe and the Middle East.
Sharon is survived by her husband Oscar Stotts of Lakeland, FL; daughter Jeanna Stotts of Lakeland, FL; daughter Michelle Stotts-Gilliespie and daughter-in-law Yvette Stotts-Gilliespie of Lakeland, FL; son Jon Stotts and daughter-in-law Lisa Stotts of Tampa, FL; daughter Kristina Unwin and son-in-law Jon Unwin of Dallas TX; grandchildren Nick, Annie, Oliver, Henry, Jack, Maggie and Sam; and siblings Robert Trisler of Tulsa, OK; Dennis Trisler of Nashville, TN; John (Marie) Trisler of Pittsburg, KS; Nancy (Mike) Cullins of Blanchard, OK; Delores Lewis of Pittsburg, KS; Ernie (Sarah) Trisler of Springfield, MO; Debra Nolen of San Antonio, TX; Joyce (Allen) Dees of Milton, FL; Tammy Trisler of Lakeland, FL and Jenny Trisler of Pittsburg, KS.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Raymond Trisler of Weir, KS; mother Geneva Trisler of Weir, KS; brother James Trisler; sister-in-law Brenda Trisler and sister-in-law Jean Ann Trisler.
A visitation service will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 South Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801 on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10 a.m., followed by graveside services at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 U.S. Highway 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812.
