Peggy Jane Freeman, 92

Peggy Jane Freeman, 92, of Lakeland, died October 24, 2022. She was born on July 8, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

While in Louisiana, Peggy worked for Gulf Oil Corporation in New Orleans and was a teacher in the Louisiana school system.

After moving to Lakeland, Peggy worked in the trust department at Peoples Bank for many years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She deeply loved her family and helping others and was an avid animal lover.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Freeman, brother, Clifford Becnel, and sister, Mary Virginia Nordling.

Peggy is survived by two sons, Clifford Freeman and Floyd W. Freeman (Sharon); and two grandchildren, Doug and Mackenzie Freeman.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
