On Saturday, September 21st, Lillian Jean Chambless, 92, went home to the Lord peacefully and graciously in her sleep. She spent her last days surrounded by daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters.

She was born October 15, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL. As a young lady she met Jimmie Chambless. She stole his heart, so he stole his future in-laws daughter. They were married a week before either family knew. As a preacher’s wife she was heavily involved in the church, particularly the choir. She also loved raising her 3 daughters, baking, sewing, crochet and quilting. She was particularly fond of taking care of her garden and flower beds.

Lillian Jean is survived by her daughters Pam Dix, Cindy Corbin & Linda Chambless (Randy), her grandchildren Stephanie (Matt) Collman, Melissa (Dave) Cramton, Michael Corbin & Katie Miller and her great grandchildren Adrianna Collman, Alexandra Collman, Keagan Collman, Morgan Gates, & Lane Cramton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Walker Chambless, her parents George & Ola Sweet, sister Doris LeGrant (John), and Great Granddaughter McKenna Gates
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either; the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan, 160 60th Street, Grand Rapids, MI 49548 in memory of McKenna Gates, or the Friendship Heart Gallery & Studio, 118 N Water St #101, Lancaster, PA 17603 in honor of Keagan Collman.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home.
