Jeri passed away Monday, February 26th, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland, FL.
She was born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Leo J and Ada S (Kinnes) McConaghy. She was the loving wife of Larry Tapley for more than 53 years. She leaves behind two brothers, Leo P and John R McConaghy and two sisters, Anne McConaghy and Mary E Dibiase and sister of the late Ada A Grazyk, William and Hugh McConaghy. She was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A graduate of St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, North Providence, RI. After graduation she went to work for the former NE Telephone, now Verizon, retiring in 1994. She moved to Florida in 1995 and worked for Home Depot for several years before leaving to do volunteer work on the bereavement team at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lakeland, Fl and later at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Jeri loved to travel, especially cruises. Her latest highlight was cruising to Australia where she was able to touch a koala. She was an animal lover, especially cats. She enjoyed her morning walk giving treats to all the neighborhood dogs.
Funeral service to be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Marcum Road, Lakeland, FL on Friday, March 8th. Viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial to take place at Bushnell Cemetery.
