
Floy Mae Mock, 81, of Winter Haven passed away on November 13th peacefully at home with her beloved husband Dan and family at her side. Floy was born November 11, 1942, in rural Trussville, Alabama to James and Floy Massey. She was the eighth of nine children and the youngest girl.
Floy and her family moved to Lakeland in 1950. She graduated from Kathleen Sr High School. She then got her cosmetology license and became a hairdresser that owned three shops. One of her accomplishments was becoming President of the Florida Association of Cosmologists. She was a successful, hardworking business owner, mother, and wife.
Floy enjoyed cooking for her husband and family. She always cooked Thanksgiving dinner. That was her favorite holiday. She and Dan enjoyed traveling 44 of the 50 states together. Yosemite National Park being one of her favorite destinations.
Floy was preceded in death by her four brothers, three sisters, and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dan Mock, daughter Michelle (Mike Foley) Harrison, son Freddy (Debbie) Johnston, daughter Dana (Justin) Longo, son Ryan (Kate) Mock, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, sister Marilyn Murdock, and her cat Buddy. She was a blessing to all that knew her and will truly be missed.
The private family viewing is Friday, November 17th from 1 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Burial Park.
