Charles Peter Bennett, III, passed away on September 1, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born on September 27, 1953, in Hampton, Virginia.
Charles will be remembered as a man who found joy in an active and engaged life. He enjoyed Tai Kwon Do, walking, camping, snorkeling, swimming, gardening, tennis, basketball, reading, playing dice and was a Foosball champ! These interests reflect a life marked by energy, curiosity, and simple pleasures, and they gave him many meaningful moments over the years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Searles, and his father, Charles Peter Bennett II.
Charles leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Bennett-Kaiser, and his brother, George V. Bennett. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Travis Bennett, Courtney Kaiser, Brittany Kaiser, Madison Bennett, Taylor Bennett, Mitchell Bennett, Justin Bennett, and his Great-Great niece Alina. Their lives remain part of his lasting legacy, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A viewing will be held on September 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
