Ambrose “Sonny” Norman Rieger, 91, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Born August 11, 1933 in Dover, Ohio, he moved to Dade City in 1948 and was a resident of Polk County ever since.
Ambrose served in the US Army as an airborne member under 11th Airborne Division, 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He was employed with the former Continental Can Co, Ingram Construction and finally became self-employed for many years before retiring. During retirement he enjoyed spectating antique cars, watching Nascar, and playing golf and pool with his friends. Sonny even returned to his roots by sky diving at the age of 89.
He is survived by his brother Vincent Rieger of Dade City, sons Greg (Mary) Rieger of Lakeland, Michael (Carol) of Ocean Springs, MS and daughter Renee (James) Cronin of Lakeland. In addition, he is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
