Alta Vista Bishop Coleman, Age 71, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on February 19, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice. Alta was born on July 19, 1952, in Arcadia, Florida. 

Alta was happily retired and known for her Southern Meals. Alta loved her family and spent all her free time with her grandchildren. She had the biggest heart and knew no strangers. Alta made it a point to always be present; she never missed a thing when it came to her children or grandchildren. She was proud of her family and made sure everyone knew it. She loved her title, “Nana” and wore it proudly.

She is survived by her brother Willis Bishop (Buddy) & sister in law Patricia Bishop, her oldest son Jerry Watson & daughter in law Melissa Watson, her daughter Tracy Compton & son in law George Compton and her youngest son Scott Coleman & daughter & law Mary Coleman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tara, Amber, Kayla, Cody, Ashta, Hunter, Reece, Cameron, Branden, Karma, Kolby, Madison, Jerimias, Zayden and her 8 great grandkids. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Willis A. Bishop and Betty Jo Bishop, her sister Lucinda Brown, her brother Dudley Bishop and her nephew John Lee Castleberry.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 16, 2024, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Northside Baptist church in Lakeland, 3131 Duff Rd. Lakeland, FL 33810.
