A Florida House bill (read it here) that is being heard Wednesday by the Education Committee would consolidate Florida Polytechnic University into the University of Florida and Sarasota’s New College into Florida State University.     That makes no sense. It started as part of USF and never should have been removed. Put it back where it belongs.

  2. This is absurd. The school just started out. It accomplished every goal set forth by the state, they finally broke ground on their research building and now they want to give the keys to a institution 150 miles a way.
